God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone! Titus 2:11
Recovery is available to everyone through a personal relationship with Jesus but a lot of people are not ready or willing to pursue it. The Bible says we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s standards.
Often in my recovery walk, I have heard people tell me “I know what I need to do to achieve recovery.” yet struggle with addictions and compulsions. I had known how to achieve recovery on my own I would have, bit I didn’t and no human power was capable of helping me face and overcome the things I had to face and overcome to live the life I am now living. I need help outside of myself. I needed Jesus.
God is ready to give us the gift of recovery and forgive us for the things we have done wrong in the past. If we are prepared to accept change and implement it. Accepting God’s gift becomes dangerous when we justify bad choices and behavior. When we lie to ourselves and others about the reality of our character defects and inability to overcome them without help.
Recently I spoke to a Christian Pastor about recovery and how the twelve steps have helped me and millions of others around the world get to know ourselves in ways many people in churches haven’t. I thank God today for the opportunities I have had in y spiritual walk to get to know myself and improve who I am with His help.
