2022 | Day Twelve | Verse for Today

Anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is. The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what’s ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we’ll never settle for less. God’s Holy Spirit, is moving and breathing in you, in the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for His work. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Keep your mind on God; don’t refuse to walk down His road. Don’t turn a deaf ear and end up in the wilderness.

  • Don’t fail to achieve the goals God has ready for you to achieve, Don’t end up in the wilderness, wondering why you can’t change your life. The Israelites failed to enter the Promised land because they didn’t believe God would protect them to overcome the problems ahead of them. for 40 years God sent them into the wilderness. Don’t let your lack of trust in God’s ability stop you from becoming all He wants you to be and doing all He wants you to do.

1-Start With The End In Mind

There is a lot of talk in recovery programs and rooms about the ‘WE’ through this series what I want to do and always wanted to do is to focus on the ‘ME.

Salvation is freely given but it cost God a lot

Read Romans 3:22-26
Focus Verse: Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us.

One of the hardest things for any of us to do is admit failure.

The ‘Good News’ is we are now in a place where everyone is on the same page and we are all aiming for the same goal ‘recovery from the pain our problems have caused us through our bad choices.’

None of us is good enough to achieve recovery on our own. The Bible tells us that. We all need God’s help and we all need each other.

  • Decide today to follow God’s direction for your recovery.
  • Find one person in your support group who you have something in common with and commit to helping each other.

I. WE WILL BE TEMPTED
“I have told you these things so that you can have peace because of me. In this world, you will have trouble. But cheer up! I have won the battle over the world.” John 16:33

II. TEMPTATION IS NOT SIN
You are tempted in the same way all other human beings are. God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted any more than you can take. But when you are tempted, God will give you a way out so that you can stand up under it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

III. TEMPTATION IS A CHOICE
“Everything is permitted.” But not everything is good for us. Again you say, “Everything is permitted.” But not everything builds us up. 1 Corinthians 10:23

Support Verses:
Proverbs 25:28
1 Corinthians 9:27
1 Peter 5:8
James 1:19
1 Thessalonians 5:22
1 Corinthians 6:12

Temptation doesn’t stop being a problem for us because we make a choice to change. We are tempted because we are human and our nature is sinful.
God gives. #Admit #Achieve #Choices

Don’t Be Foolish

Psalms 69:5 God, you know how foolish I’ve been. My guilt is not hidden from you.

God knows everything about us. Knowing the foolish things that we have done hasn’t stopped Him loving us.

It is foolish for any of us to think we can achieve recovery without God’s help. We become foolish we rely more on ourselves than we do on Him. Psalm 14:1 says Foolish people say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They do all kinds of horrible and evil things. No one does anything good.

I can relate to this verse. I remember so much of my life before I invited Jesus to share it. Doing the wrong thing and justifying wrong things as right things for my own selfish ambitions.

  • What foolish things do you still do and justify you need to stop?
