Why is everyone hungry for more? “More, more,” they say. “More, more.” I have God’s more-than-enough, More joy in one ordinary day Than they get in all their shopping sprees. At day’s end I’m ready for sound sleep, For you, GOD, have put my life back together. Psalms 4:6-8
Sometimes when complacency moves into our lives we take for granted what we have, and who got us here.
We need to break ties with the people who drink like we used to drink, use drugs like we used to use drugs, and live like we use to live
Psalms 13:1 Lord, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You look the other way?
It takes time to settle into the new routine of ‘Daily Recovery Life’ For so long our lives have just been a mess, no routine and no support.
One of the big reasons for bale out in recovery is ‘impatience’ People don’t wait around long enough for the miracle to happen.
Be encouraged! God has not forgotten you and He has not brought you this far to leave you where you are.
As you move forward in the recovery process God is going to be calling on you more and more. For now, just enjoy the journey.
- Do you feel you have progressed in the recovery process?

Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God. Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon. Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. It’s true that moral guidance and counsel need to be given, but the way you say it and to whom you say it are as important as what you say.
You need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.
Prayer: Lord, today give me patience and help me to rest in You
Job 22:30 “Even the guilty will escape, escape through God’s grace in your life.”
Life can be full of tight corners. No space to move. Hemmed in and wondering how to escape, caught up in hopelessness. God’s grace is our only escape route

My eyes grow dim with longing for you to fulfill your wonderful promise to rescue me. Lord, deal with me in loving-kindness, and teach me, your servant, to obey. Psalm 119:123-124
Recovery for me has been a time of ‘Looking and Waiting’ I have never had a problem seeing what God wanted me to do. In 1989, when I finally dealt with my pride God spoke to me. Alone in my room one night in rehab I heard the voice of Jesus say to me “You do not need to live like this anymore. Follow Me and I will lead you.”
From that day to this day that has been my recovery, He leads I follow. It has meant me continually ‘looking’ for His opportunities in my life and ‘waiting’ on His prompting on when to move on them. Trusting God is dependent on continual communication with Him.
– Do you pray?
– Do you listen to God and look for His opportunities?
Prayer: God help me today to look and listen when You speak.
Matthew 17:20 “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
|Mark well that God doesn’t miss a move you make; he’s aware of every step you take. The shadow of your sin will overtake you; you’ll find yourself stumbling all over yourself in the dark. Death is the reward of an undisciplined life; your foolish decisions trap you in a dead end. Proverbs 5:21|
Proverbs 5:21-23 Mark well that God doesn’t miss a move you make; he’s aware of every step you take. The shadow of your sin will overtake you; you’ll find yourself stumbling all over yourself in the dark. Death is the reward of an undisciplined life; your foolish decisions trap you in a dead end.
