JESUS CHRIST – Light of The World

We dare to say these good things about ourselves only because of our great trust in God through Christ, that he will help us to be true to what we say, 2 Corinthians 3:4

God’s touch is on the skies, the heavens, the natural world of color, and beauty because He made it. His touch is on all of us because He made us. But right from the tragic moment of transgression in Eden, He chose to reveal Himself in visitation mode. The light bringer, born in a manger in Bethlehem brought His power to overthrow the powers of darkness that contest our interest. Victorious He stands over death and hell. He stands above everything and we can fall into worshipping things instead of worshipping Him. He draws us into His Kingdom of light and truth. But He leaves the choice to follow or reject Him entirely up to us. Will you choose to follow Him?

Do the Right Thing

Psalm 71:2 You do what is right, so save me and help me. Pay attention to me and save me.

A song I learned in recovery that means so much to me on this journey of life says “ I want to live right that God may use me at any time and anywhere.”How do you learn to live right? Learn and apply the steps to your life. Attend meetings on a regular basis. Start attending Church on a regular basis and getting involved. Read the Bible and Pray! If you are a person in recovery, recovery must come first in your life or nothing else matters

Hosea 14:9 says “The paths of the Lord are true and right, and good men walk along them.” Living right and doing the right thing go hand in hand. When God forgives us, He judges our sin but shows mercy to the sinner. We should never be afraid to come to God for a clean slate and a renewed life. Making a decision to let God help us change the errors of our past and committing to working with Him to do so are the right things to do as we move forward in the process of Living Life Recovery.

  • How important is your recovery?
  • Do you make it a priority in your life

Prayer: God help me to put recovery first in my life.

What The Bible Says

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. . . . Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. We have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. #Right #Rest #Peace

What The Bible Says

Jeremiah 6:16 God’s Message yet again: “Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, The tried and true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls.”

The Right Thing To Do

Step Eight As part of the process of change, I will identify and record everyone I have harmed and through prayer become willing to make restitution to them.

1 Peter 3:10 Scripture says, “Do you want to love life and see good days? Then keep your tongues from speaking evil. Keep your lips from telling lies.

Because God is watching and listening to our recovery. He will take care of us when we do the right thing. He wants us to the right thing all of the time but He also knows because we are human we won’t always do the right thing.

He wants us to do what He considers the right thing, not what we consider to be the right thing. We learn what God thinks is the right thing through reading His Word. We also know what God considers to be the right thing through our consciences.

All of us have a God-built system of knowing what is right and what is wrong but we need to pay attention to it.

– When have You done what God wanted instead of what you wanted because it was the right thing to do?

Prayer: God help me to see and do the right thing in every situation I find myself in today.

What The Bible Says

Psalms 62:8 Trust him absolutely, people; lay your lives on the line for him. God is a safe place to be.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me [Jesus]. Getaway with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Mark 9:23 Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.”

Mark 11:22-24 “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’–no shuffling or shilly-shallying–and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything.

Romans 1:17 God’s way of putting people right shows up in the acts of  faith, confirming what Scripture has said all along: “The person in right standing before God by trusting him really lives.”

The Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17 The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good.

It’s not a collection of stories, myths or human ideas about God. It’s not a human book. It is a collection of Holy Spirit revelations of God’s plan revealed to those who wrote down His message for His people. It is trustworthy because God was in control of it’s writing. It is truly ‘given to us by inspiration from God.’ In order to learn God’s truth, we need to read it, study it, meditate on it and talk to God about it.

It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good.

What The Bible Says

Galatians 4:5-7 We have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, “Papa! Father!” Doesn’t that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.

In our time something new has been added. What Moses and the prophets witnessed to all those years has happened. The God-setting-things-right that we read about has become Jesus-setting-things-right for us. And not only for us but for everyone who believes in him. For there is no difference between us and them in this. Since we’ve compiled this long and sorry record as sinners (both us and them) and proved that we are utterly incapable of living the glorious lives God wills for us, God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity, he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23
