2022 | Day Twelve | Verse for Today

Anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is. The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what’s ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we’ll never settle for less. God’s Holy Spirit, is moving and breathing in you, in the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for His work. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Keep your mind on God; don’t refuse to walk down His road. Don’t turn a deaf ear and end up in the wilderness.

  • Don’t fail to achieve the goals God has ready for you to achieve, Don’t end up in the wilderness, wondering why you can’t change your life. The Israelites failed to enter the Promised land because they didn’t believe God would protect them to overcome the problems ahead of them. for 40 years God sent them into the wilderness. Don’t let your lack of trust in God’s ability stop you from becoming all He wants you to be and doing all He wants you to do.

WELCOME NEWS

Ezekiel 11:19 I’ll give you a new heart. I’ll put a new spirit in you. I’ll cut out your stone heart and replace it with a red-blooded, firm-muscled heart.

It is normal to welcome good news. Only abnormal, mentally unbalanced people fail to be affected by something good that is announced or addressed for their benefit.

God could offer nothing more startling, exciting and far reaching that His personal desire to ‘put a new spirit within’ any willing heart. What a great gesture? What a marvelous plan? Why is it then so many of us refuse His offer? God has taken the initiative – the offer still stand! Will you take up the offer?

We must first of all consider ourselves unworthy, then count the cost of handing over everything – our past – our present – our future. Are we willing to be specific in naming our sins? Are we ready to come to God in simple prayer? Setting in motion the kind of change that is pre-requisite for wonder-working God to “Put a new Spirit within.”

God is always waiting and willing. ARE WE?

What The Bible Says

Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ–eternal and glorious plans they are!–will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does. 1 Peter 5:7-11

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer: God of wonders let me not withstand Your sovereign rights and take up Your offer of being created new.

#2251 Thought For Today

thought_for_todayIt takes time to settle into the new routine of ‘ Daily Recovery Life’ For so long our lives have just been a mess, no routine and no support. One of the big reasons for bale out in recovery is ‘impatience’ People don’t wait around long enough for the miracle to happen.

Be encouraged! God has not forgotten you and He has not brought you this far to leave you where you are.

Psalms 31:24 Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon.

Step Two I believe God exists, that He cares about me and He can
help me to regain control of my life

#2133 The Word For Recovery

He settled on twelve and designated them, apostles. The plan was that they would be with him, and he would send them out to proclaim the Word Mark 3:14

1 Corinthians 7:35 I’m trying to be helpful and make it as easy as possible for you, not make things harder. All I want is for you to be able to develop a way of life in which you can spend plenty of time together with the Master without a lot of distractions.

Settle Your Differences Quickly

BibleYou have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you are even angry with someone [without cause], you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. “When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.  Matthew 5:21-26

Jesus shows us anger is far too powerful for us to handle on our own.
The path to victory in the recovery process is admitting we are powerless
and turning to Him for help.

Foundations

If you work Gods words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who dug deep and laid the foundation of his house on bedrock. Remember, there is only one foundation, the one already laid: Jesus Christ.  Long before He laid down earth’s foundations, God had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love.  God’s firm foundation is as firm as ever.

Luke 6:48 ~ 1 Corinthians 3:11~ Ephesians 1:4 ~  2 Timothy 2:19

Thought for Today – Archie Boyle

Regardless of how bad we think something is God wants us to go to Him and talk about it. To see the error of our ways, repent and change.

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.
