Developing Good Character

4oDays Matthew 5:48 “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. “

Jesus is the model for perfect character. In life, we cannot be perfect. We all make mistakes. But we can strive to be as much like Jesus as we can. Christlike character is achieved through spiritual growth and maturity. God expects us, through learning and applying The Twelve Steps to living differently, behaving differently. To seek to love Him and others completely as Christ loves us.

Perfect character is molded by God’s standards. People judge outwardly.God judges inwardly. He can see what is inside of us. He knows the measure of our faith in Him. He understands our boundaries and limitations. And He knows ‘The Steps’ we are taking to improve our hearts attitudes.

Perfect character is developed through challenges. And there is no greater challenge than transformed life through the process of recovery. When we are tested and tempted we can complain, or we can try and understand how God is using what we are going through to develop our character.
