- We all need recovery because we are all SINNERS
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
- We all need recovery because we all make MISTAKES
Genesis 4:6-7 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
- We all need recovery because we are all SELFISH
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
- We all need recovery because we QUESTION GOD’S PURPOSE FOR OUR LIVES
Job 2:10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
For some of us past sins, mistakes, selfishness and questioning is holding us back from moving forward in our lives. We may have legitimate reasons for this but continuing to hold on to the pain and refusing to face the truth about our lives is stunting our spiritual growth and maturity. It’s important for us to understand by starting to work through these things, we can, with God’s help, begin to find the courage and strength we need to change our lives.
Recovery will help us to build solid SPIRITUAL FOUNDATIONS
Luke 6:49 He who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.
Recovery will introduce us to the KINGDOM OF GOD
Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Recovery will help us develop GOOD CHARACTER
Genesis 22:1 God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Recovery will help us to CHANGE OUR LIVES
John 4:39 Many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”
