Purpose

Jeremiah 29:8-12 Believe it or not, this is the Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies, Israel’s God: “Don’t let all those so-called preachers and know-it-alls who are all over the place there take you in with their lies. Don’t pay any attention to the fantasies they keep coming up with to please you. They’re a bunch of liars preaching lies–and claiming I sent them! I never sent them, believe me.” God’s Decree! This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out–plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. “When you call on me when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen.

God speaks to us through His word:
He promises us that at the right time in our lives He will show up and take care of everything. He will take notice of what is going on in and through our lives and provide a solution to every problem.

Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:6

God has a plan for our lives and He knows what He is doing.
If you asked me today what I am searching for through recovery the answer is found in Step 11“In order to discover God’s purpose for my life, implement it and to improve my relationship with Him, I will spend time daily in prayer, reading the Bible and meditating on it.”

Proverbs 19:21 We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails.

Proverbs 15:22 Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them succeed.

The WORD For Recovery

The ruin of the young is either living by no rule at all, or choosing false rules.

Psalms 119:12-17 Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living. I’ll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth;  I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you, I attentively watch how you’ve done it.  I relish everything you’ve told me of life, I won’t forget a word of it. Be generous with me and I’ll live a full life; not for a minute will I take my eyes off your road.

We need the help of those who can enlarge our vision and broaden our perspective

We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs

[The Life Recovery Devotional]
Step 5 – Day 11

  • Refuse good advice and watch your plans fail; take good counsel and watch them succeed.
    Proverbs 15:22
  • Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.
    Proverbs 11:14
  • Your sayings on life are what give me delight; I listen to them as to good neighbors!
    Psalms 119:24

We can never progress in recovery in isolation. We need ‘OTHERS’ ,who are further along the road than we are to help us and [rovide healthy relationships of support us as we move forward together in fellowship with God,
