“WHY?”

Luke 7:23 “Blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

logo_transparent_bgQuestioning seems more prevalent in modern times. It is probably only more vocal. There has always been a want-to-know, either expressed or silenced, deep within man, a real desperation in the cry “Why?”

Addiction is often a torrent of deeply felt welled up emotions within; occasionally bursting onto the surface of our lives, while always causing pain, hurt, sorrow, horror, shock, and the agony of it all leading to the cry “WHY?” Soul-questioning can be good for us.

We are all human. It need not be wrong to express our true feelings to God. even He, when nailed to the cross, asked: “My God, why ….?”  When at cross-purposes with God, we should doubtless have a reason to continually and critically ask. “WHY” When walking closely with God, like Jesus we will sometimes question “why?”; it is not sinful to do so.

We cannot provide answers that will impressively remove our doubts, nor dismiss profound philosophical questions quickly. Through trouble and pain, we may not see solutions, but we can always see Jesus.

YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. Hebrews 2:8

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
