1 Peter 1:22 You have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. So, you have an honest and true love for your brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply, from the heart.
This verse is talking about the purity of our souls. The dictionary defines the soul as” the principle of life, feeling, thought and action in humans,” In other words the part of me that makes me Archie.
Purity in my life is in direct relation to how I feel, think and act towards others. Honest and true love for others comes from learning to love ourselves, be honest about our feelings and thoughts and acting in accordance with God’s guidance and direction. The purpose of recovery is to become more like Jesus. Romans 8:29 says “God planned that those he had chosen would become like his Son.”
- What are your honest feelings and thoughts about recovery?

Purity in our lives comes from our hearts. Recovery is a process of changing from the inside out. We are not here for show; we are here to change.

PURITY BEGINS WITH THE EYES
Matthew 5:28-29 Do not even look at a woman in the wrong way. Anyone who does has already committed adultery with her in his heart. “If your right eye causes you to sin, poke it out and throw it away. Your eye is only one part of your body. It is better to lose it than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
GOD CALLS US TO BE HOLY
1 Peter 1:15 The one who chose you is holy. So you should be holy in all that you do.
1 Thessalonians 4:8
If you refuse to accept my teaching, you turn your back on God, not on people.
