2021 | Day 365 | Discussion Starter

1 Peter 3:15 Make sure in your hearts that Christ is Lord. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently and with respect.

There is One True Higher Power and His name is Jesus Christ. Following Him comes with some expectations. They are:

  1. Jesus expects wholehearted obedience.
  2. Jesus expects us to deny ourselves to follow Him.
  3. Jesus expects us to imitate Him.
  4. Jesus expects us to invest our lives in serving others.
  5. Jesus expects us to repent of our sin.
  6. Jesus expects us to live for Him.
  7. Jesus expects our lives to be marked by His humility.

    – If you have not yet we invite you take time to stop and invite Jesus to become your One True Higher Power, for give you of your sin, lead and guide you as you move forward on the road to recovery with Him.

2021 | Day 365 | Morning Harmony

Jesus said “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.”  That means killing off everything connected with that way of death: doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified. If God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of Him. It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, He’ll do the same thing in you that He did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and He does, as surely as He did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!

We can’t profess faith in God and keep living the same life we have always led. Jesus said: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” God has a purpose, and there is a purpose to Living Life Recovery. NEWS FLASH – they are the same ‘to introduce the promises of God through the process of recovery and encourage people to examine and implement them at their own pace.’ For too long I have watched people tell others “this is the right and only way to get sober’ Through Living Life Recovery we are not interested in getting sober. We are interested in changed lives and people obeying God’s will for their lives. In 2022 I have developed 7 x 6 weekly series of how I have walked the road to recovery with Christ’s help. Each week will begin with a video presentation, each day a podcast, and a text message based on the ‘Morning Harmony’ and “Discussion Starter’ daily readings of Living Life Recovery.

If you a loved one or a friend are suffering from the negative effects of addiction and compulsion in your lives I encourage you to join me @ArchieBoyle or on my website, Facebook group or page,

Lord, thank You for the year that was 2021. I ask that You will use me and use Living Life Recovery in the coming year to reach the lost, save the unreachable and change the lives of people for Your Glory,

2021 | Day 365 | Verse For Today

Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing. Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here’s what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you’re worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he’s asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things. If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? 1 Peter 3:8-13

We can’t always be exactly in the same mind as other people. But we can have compassion for one another. If we desire to live comfortably or to possess eternal life in heaven, we must learn to control our tongue from wicked, or deceitful words. We must keep far away from evil actions and do what good we can. We must seek peace with everyone. For God, watches over the right-living and takes care of them.

Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ is totally different than just believing in Him. The Bible tells us ‘even the devil believes in Him‘ Step Twelve in the Living Life Recovery Twelve Steps says: Having gone through these steps and discovering the importance of an individual relationship with God through Jesus, I will try to live according to His principles and to lead others to a personal relationship with Him.

The scripture above tells us not only does God approve of right-living. He responds favorably to it.

2021 | Day 364 | Discussion Starter

Proverbs 16:18 If you are proud, you will be destroyed. If you are proud, you will fall.

With humility comes wisdom and with wisdom comes honor.

For most of my recovery life, I have chaired and led recovery groups. Much of the time without knowing what I was talking about. Today I am confident in what I say. At some stage of my spiritual walk, the Holy Spirit took over. Many times in the past 30+ years I have got up and talked about my experience, strength, and hope and to this day I cannot tell you what I spoke about.

Attached today is a handout from Living Life Recovery Discussion Starters. Often in my walk, God has sent people of discernment who could see what I could not. People who sometimes we pay no attention to till much later in our walk, if at all.

God often talks to us through other people. don’t let pride stop you from hearing what He is saying

  • Are you listening?

Prayer: God today let me acknowledge Your Grace to me.

2022 | Day 364 | Verse for Today

Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, Ephesians 1:7-8

2021 | Day 363 | Discussion Starter

1 Peter 2:20 If you’re treated badly for good behavior and continue in spite of it to be a good servant, that is what counts with God.

People expected me to fail. Some are probably still waiting for the day when it all comes crashing down. Not their fault! When I first entered recovery in 1987 I made a lot of the right noises and one the faith and respect of people just to let them down when I relapsed.

Relapse taught me things about myself I would never have learned without it. I am not suggesting people relapse. But for me, it helped me to build a better character by understanding the need for rigorous honesty. It helped me to mature because all I had done previously was abstain from alcohol and drugs.

Recovery requires a change of character that can only be obtained through a relationship with Jesus.

  • Are you ready to take full responsibility for your own maturity?

Prayer: God help me today to grow up spiritually.

2021 | Day 363 | Morning Harmony

My troubles turned out all for the best— they forced me to learn from your textbook. Truth from your mouth means more to me than striking it rich in a gold mine. Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times. It is better to be confronted by the God now than to face a fiery confrontation later. Distress that drives us to God turns us around. Gets us back to His way of thinking and behaving. Jesus said “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life

Think about when you first came to recovery/ How you felt. How you responded to the process and your own progress in those early day’s. If you are like me God’s Word and personal relationship with the Holy spirit mad all the difference in you attitude, belief and behaviour. You relaised God’s way of Living Life Recovery, though difficult at times and confronting more often than not was a better way fo living than you could have imagined for yourself. You realized by facing the things He placed before you and deealing with them with His help life got better and you were better equipped to live with it. Jesus offers us all a batter way of living than the lives we used to live. He encourages us to live by His example, in His presence so we can grow spiritually on a daily basis and be used by Him to help others to do the same.

Thank you Lord for all you have done in and through my life up to this point. As I apporach this ‘New Beginning’ this new year equip me to keep ‘Moving Forward’ open to being used by You in this mission of introducing others to You and what You8 can and will do for them.

2021- Day 363 – #VERSEFORTODAY

The death of Jesus was designed not only for an example of patience under sufferings, but he bore our sins; He bore the punishment of them, and thereby satisfied Divine justice. He takes them away from us.

The fruits of Jesus’ sufferings are the death of sin, a new and holy way of living. He lived and died as our example of achieving both. Giving us powerful motives, and the tools we need to Live Life Recovery.

It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Ephesians 2:1-5

2021 | Day 362 | Morning Harmony

Recovery always involves other people. We cannot move forward in recovery unless we make carrying the message of hope to others an integral part of our life. We discover as we share our story of life-changing character, we will gain new strength to keep going in our own struggle. even when things get tough or don’t go according to our plan.

All I ever wanted in my life was to be guilt-free and happy. I tried many ways, in my own strength to make that happen, wanted recovery on my terms. It wasn’t till I submitted my life to God I discovered that my guilt could only be relieved through His forgiveness and my continued search for His will for my life. My strength could only be revived through the implementation of His plan and continued faith He has my best interest at heart. Always.

in Jude 1:1-3  Jude said,”I am a slave to Jesus Christ and brother to James, writing to those loved by God the Father, called and kept safe by Jesus Christ.  Relax, everything’s going to be all right; rest, everything’s coming together; open your hearts, love is on the way!  Dear friends, I’ve dropped everything to write you about this life of salvation that we have in common. I have to write insisting—begging!—that you fight with everything you have in you for this faith entrusted to us as a gift to guard and cherish.

My own observation on Day 362 of 2021 is that we too need to RELAX and trust that everything is going to be alright. God has a plan for each of us and in His time it will all come together to help us be the person He is calling us to be if we just put into practice what we have learned about the process of Living Life Recovery.
