Jesus Forgave Sinners

Jesus forgave those who mocked Him and killed Him. He expects us to follow His example. Colossians 3:13 Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you.

#2159 Verse Of The Day

verse for todayMy beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.1 John 4:9

#2158 Have Faith In God

Faith puts us in a right relationship with God. By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us–set us right with him, make us fit for him–we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. Romans 5:1

#2077 Be Guided by God

Reflections Cover

verse for todayProverbs 20:18 Make plans by asking for guidance.

STEP ELEVEN  In order to discover God’s purpose for my life, implement it and to improve my relationship with Him, I will spend time daily in prayer, reading the Bible and meditating on it.

Recovery is a spiritual battle. To succeed in it we need spiritual guidance. The best sources of spiritual guidance any of us can us are God’s Word and prayer.

thought_for_todayGod’s guidance for our futures comes with obedience to Him and His Word in the present. When we focus on Him instead of focusing on the results we want to achieve we see beyond temporary setbacks or roadblocks.

His guidance rarely follows our plans. If I had seen all the things I had to go through in my life to get me to where I am now I am not confident I would still be here. Thankfully I have a Saviour who knows me better that I know myself who guides me daily and knows what is best for me.

  • Are you allowing God to guide you where you don’t necessarily want to go?

#2068 Sow What?

Reflections Cover

Mark 4:26-27 Jesus said, “God’s kingdom is like seed thrown on a field by a man who then goes to bed and forgets about it. The seed sprouts and grows–he has no idea how it happens.

Wrong doing has a way of rebounding on us. verse for todayJob 4:8 says “It’s my observation that those who plow evil and sow trouble reap evil and trouble.” As we do to others, we can be similarly treate. Usually we don’t like it either. Bullies don’t like being bullied. Liars don’t like being lied to. Thieves are usually outraged when someone steal from them. It is an unrefutable fact we reep what we sow.

thought_for_today‘The best things in life are not free.’  Some of us have suffered the consequences of misguided trips into foolish territory. We sowed to the wind of experimentation and reaped a whirlwind. Lit fires of desire and reaped a bushfire. Caved in to prerssure from many influences and experienced rockbottom.

The Divine Sower is waiting to invest in us ……. so we can reap a good harvest . Jesus said to His disciples  “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom–you know how it works. But to those who can’t see it yet, everything comes in stories, creating readiness, nudging them toward receptive insight. These are people– Whose eyes are open but don’t see a thing, Whose ears are open but don’t understand a word, Who avoid making an about-face and getting forgiven.” Mark 4:11-12  God alone can put us right so we can start sowing wisely.

#2058 Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward.png

verse for todayThe Bible says in Galatians 6:9 “Let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.”

It is easy to do the right thing when everything appears to be working out the way we expect it to, but not so easy whentimes get tough or God doesn’t act the way we think He should.

thought_for_todayIt is important in the recovery process we learn to take responsibility for ourselves. Realise their a consequences to everything we do. It needs to be clear to us in this new way of living God holds us accountablenfor everything we do say and think. So we need to learn His will for our lives and seek His power to carry it out.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 says  “Don’t shoot off your mouth, or speak before you think. Don’t be too quick to tell God what you think he wants to hear. God’s in charge , not you–the less you speak, the better.”

In an effort to ‘Keep Moving Forward.’  we nned to learn the power of the A.A. slogan ‘THINK! THINK! THINK!’ I don’t know about you but moset of the problems in my life are a reult of acting and reacting on feelings before I take the time to think about the consequences of things.

In Hosea 13:6 God says “I took care of you, took care of all your needs, gave you everything you needed. You were spoiled. You thought you didn’t need me. You forgot me.”

When it comes to ‘Moving Forward’ we need to remember “God’s in charge” He cares about us qnad we need to not get so far ahead of Him we forget where we came from, what He has done and is doing foward and if we could have made it on our own we already would have.

THINK ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!

#2048 What Would You Trade Your Soul For?

Verse of the Day

Matthew 16:24-26 Jesus said to His disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. thought_for_todaySelf-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?

#2041 Verse of The Day

Verse of The Day.png

Mental wellness comes from being around spiritually healthy people. Recovery is about learning from each other, encouraging each other and challenging each other to be all that God is calling us to be as individuals and as a group.

#2033 Verse of The Day

Verse of the Day

Proverb 29:21 If you let people treat you like a doormat, you’ll be quite forgotten in the end.

You can’t live someone elses recovery (you can share in it) and they can’t live yours. Recovery is a personal process that requires a personal realtionship with God,
